COMMON QUESTIONS

Excel quiz parser FAQs

How do I convert an Excel question bank into a quiz?+

Use the Xcel template columns for Question, Option 1 through Option 4, and Correct Ans, plus the optional Explanation column. Upload an .xlsx, .xls, or .csv file to validate answers and preview questions or flashcards before exporting.

Can I import questions from multiple Excel sheets?+

Yes. Xcel reads every worksheet in a workbook. Each sheet must use the same six required template columns and may include the optional Explanation column. The sheet name is retained as the group tag on each question.

Does Xcel work with an LMS or EdTech platform?+

Export the validated questions as JSON, or send the JSON directly to an API endpoint. The receiving LMS or platform can map that structured data into its own assessment format.

Are uploaded spreadsheets stored on a server?+

No. Spreadsheet parsing happens in your browser. The file stays on your device unless you choose to send the resulting JSON to an API.
